How often should I deep clean my carpet?

HygieneStore recommends a thorough deep cleaning of your carpet approximately two or three times a year. For high-traffic areas and the occasional spot or spill, you may use your washer as needed

What is the best cleaning method for a room berber carpet?

Research has determined the water extraction method of cleaning, such as used in a HygieneStore upright deep cleaner, is an effective way of cleaning Berber carpet. It is always a good idea to contact your carpet manufacturer or retailer for specific cleaning recommendations on the carpet in your home. 

Some types or designs of Berber carpet have a tendency to “fuzz” with wear or repeated rubbing. It is generally recommended you vary the direction of the machine during cleaning and avoid repeated stroking or rubbing in one area. For best cleaning results with Berber carpet, we recommend treating the entire area to be cleaned using either of the following methods: Pretreat the area with HygieneStore Tough Stain PreCleaner. Spray the area according to the product directions. Gently agitate the area with the brush on your deep cleaner’s floor nozzle. 

Wait 15 to 20 minutes before deep cleaning with your machine, allowing the formula to break down and loosen embedded dirt and tough soils. Or… Lightly pre-spray the entire area using hot tap water and HygieneStore Fiber Cleansing Formula, following the product instructions. Gently agitate the treated area with the floor nozzle brush, powerbrush, or DirtLifter Powerbrush. Wait 15 to 20 minutes before deep cleaning with your machine, allowing the formula to break down and loosen embedded dirt and soils. 

Following the machine instructions and using warm tap water, deep clean the area with your machine. Use very slow strokes to enhance the water retrieval process. Ventilate the area well, using a fan to help accelerate the drying process.

How do I remove candle wax from my carpet?

The information for removing candle wax from carpets is as follows: HygieneStore Deep Cleaning Method Begin with HygieneStore Pet Stain and Odor Remover Trigger Spray Formula because it contains special enzymes that will break down the stain. Generously spray the area with the formula. Using a cloth or towel, gently work the formula into the area using light strokes from the edges of the stain to the center; when your cloth reaches the center of the stain, lightly pinch it in an upward motion. 

Make sure to turn and change your cloth frequently and do not rub the stain.

The carpet feels stiff and “stands up” after cleaning. What do I do?

If the carpet still feels stiff after using the HygieneStore machine and HygieneStore shampoo, it is most likely you still have the HygieneStore shampoo in the carpet fibers. Please do not apply anything additional to the carpet fibers. Perform a final Water Only rinse over the affected area. After the final water rinse dries, please feel the area. Without the additional shampoo in the carpet fibres, your carpet should not feel stiff any longer.

I have a dog/cat who decided to spray the seat cushions on two of my chairs. How do I get rid of the smell in the foam cushions of the upholstery?

To remove the smell from the foam seat cushions, please try the HygieneStore Cleaning Tip below. If the foam cushions are washable, wash them and while still wet manually apply HygieneStore Pet Stain & Odour Remover to both sides of the cushions. If the foam cushions are not washable or already dry, moisten the cushions and manually apply HygieneStore Pet Stain & Odour Remover to both sides of the cushions. Then, cover the cushions with plastic so they remain moist for at least 24 hours. After the 24 hours, remove the plastic and test whether or not the odour is totally dissipated. If the odour is still present, moisten and retreat the cushions with the HygieneStore Pet Stain & Odour Remover and cover for another 24 hours. Rewash the cushions and thoroughly dry.

How do I remove coffee stains from my carpet?

How can odours be removed from carpet?

Determine the source of the odor, and remove any solid residue. Following the machine instructions and using hot water, use your carpet washer to thoroughly deep clean the carpet fibers. For basic home odors, including smoke, we recommend using HygieneStore Fiber Cleansing Formula for full size carpet washers. After cleaning, accelerate the drying process by using fans to ventilate the area. As always, please be sure to try cleaning methods on an inconspicuous area first to test for colorfastness and other possible problems.

Are you able to provide a single invoice where multiple services are provided?

Absolutely, we send out one invoice regardless of the number of different services we provide so you don’t have to juggle through different invoices.

Are you able to sweep if it’s wet/rained?

Yes we have fully enclosed sweeping machines that operate when it is wet and raining, this can be crucial to maintaining a clean site in the winter.

Can you clean the edges?

We walk behind sweeping and scrubbing machines that are able to access smaller areas that are inaccessible to ride on machines and the scrubbing machine will also clean very close to the edges, we can discuss other available options to clean all the edges, corners and even up the walls.

Do you do emergency response if we have a spill?

We have a 24/7 emergency response number and an emergency spill check list to ensure that everyone is safe and the spill is contained as best as possible.

Do you have guarantees or warranties?

We guarantee that we will deliver the outcome discussed and agreed upon.

Do you use filters and what level of filtration do you get?

Our machines utilise High Efficiency Particulate Air (Hepa) filtration and we have equipment that filters down to 1 micron (0.001 mm).

Do you work on weekends or outside normal business hours?

Yes we are able to undertake the work at any time or day to minimise any disruption to the running of your business. We can also work on public holidays. Just inform us prior. 

How much do you charge?

We price the completed job in accordance to the many variables that affect the time taken such as the condition of the floor or area to be cleaned and the amount and type of clean required to achieve the desired result.
